Whew, I'm Tired!!

As hard as it may be to believe, Will is turning 1 next week! We are having a party at our house with family and a few friends. We are so excited that we have family traveling from all over to celebrate this special day with us. We feel like we are celebrating more that Will having survived our first year of being parents! Corey and I both had Teddy Bear themes for our 1st birthday so we are caring on the tradition with him.

So, have you ever planned a party that you thought would be a lot of fun and the closer you got the bigger and more complicated it became? I must say that I am exhausted!! I have been washing windows, base boards, cleaning out closets and pulling weeds. Corey reminded me yesterday that no one is coming to see our house. They are coming to see our boy on his big day. So, to all my friends and family out there who keep me grounded everyday please remind me next time to order pizza, ignore the mess and embrace the special moment that is about to happen. We are so proud of our boy!!!

Music Man

Many of you know that Corey got home from Mexico last week. He brought Will a special present all the way from the Baja. It is a brightly colored mini guitar as you can see in the pictures. There is nothing Will likes more that making music (which makes his daddy really proud). So here are some cute pictures we took the other day of Corey and Will both playing their very 1st guitars. I may even have to learn to play something soon. Everyday Will begs to get out daddies guitars and play. You can imagine how bad it sounds when I pretend to play him a song! Thank goodness he is too young to know the difference.

Oh, by the way...

Sorry I didn't mention it before but I decided that I was ready for a change on our blog. So I made a few adjustments, with Corey's help of course. I hope you enjoy our new look!

Taste Test

Will is cracking me up! The boy that used to eat everything is now not so sure about the world of food around him. When he is not sure about something he sticks his tongue out to see if it is good. If not you can guarantee that he is not going to be eating that today. This all started with his knew found independence. One day Will woke up and decided that he did not want to be spoon fed anymore so we quit pureeing everything and started giving him finger foods. Now it seems the only way I can get him to eat his veggies is if I sprinkle a little unsweetened applesauce over it. Then you would think he had found the best food ever! So tell me, is this normal? Am I creating a monster by using the applesauce. Any advice would be great! Below you will see pictures of Will eating a food that he does love... spaghetti. We tried it the other night and praise the Lord we didn't have to fight him to eat it!

On the Sunny side of Life

Check out some of our favorite foto moments from the last several months. Turn up the volume to enjoy one of our (Will & Dad's) favorite songs that we sing to mom.

Summer Fun

On the lighter side of things... Will loves the pool, which is a good thing because we are the biggest fans of the pool/beach come summer time. There's nothing we love more than enjoying the water & the sun. As you can see, Will enjoys it too!

A big thank you to everyone...

Obviously it's been tough lately. Losing a child you've never met is difficult. We look forward even more to that great day when our Savior calls us home & we meet this little one we've said goodbye to. It's in times like these that you realize & are thankful that God is God despite our circumstances, situations, joys or disappointments. His glory doesn't depend on our present happenings & His presence isn't a feeling, it's fact. And we truly are thankful for His comfort today.

We want to say a big thank you to all of our friends & family. We haven't returned many (if any) phone calls, emails, or text messages. But we are so grateful for the overflow of support. They have meant so much to us. Though we haven't answered the phone much, the voice mails have meant the world. The emails & text messages have been very encouraging.

We just want to say thank you tonight.

Sad News Today...

To all of our friends & family who check this blog, we just wanted to let you know that today we received sad news at the doctor's office. We found out today that we have had a miscarriage. Tomorrow we will go to Crestwood for a D&C. Thanks for your thoughts & prayers. We are blessed to have so many who care so deeply for us. In all things, our hope & trust is in God. To Him be glory in every thing.

Guess What??

We are so excited to announce that we are having another baby! We are so thrilled about this new little one. It will be so much fun to have Will and this new little baby be close in age... 16 months to be exact. Will is going to be 1 August 1st and this baby is due December 30th. It should be a fun holiday season. I will be 9 weeks this Sunday. It will be great for this 1st trimester to be over. I really don't like morning sickness! : ) Besides that all is well at our house. Below you will see a picture of the new baby and and picture of Will touching a fish for the first time. Corey went fishing today and brought home some of the fish. Will was excited to touch it and would have put it in his mouth if we would have let him! Boys will be boys and he is ALL Boy!

Graduation

We were so excited when Corey crossed the stage last Saturday and received his Masters Degree at Lipscomb. He has worked hard for many years and we are celebrating his success. It was a fun day being back on campus. They had a special Hooding ceremony for those getting their Master's, a reception with lots of good food and of course the graduation itself. Will had a good time and really enjoyed the music during the ceremony. Enjoy the pictures from the day!

More Easter Pictures

Over the last couple of weeks we have had a lot of fun celebrating Easter with our family. Will got a lot of fun things for Easter and got lots of love from all of his family. Below you will see pictures of Will with Corey's parents, his cousin Lucus, Alisha's mom, brother, Amber (future sister-in-law), and dad. Lucus is actually Will's second cousin. They loved playing together. Will kept trying to hug and grab at Lucus. I think he must really love him! It is so neat that they will grow up together.
The newest thing that Will is doing this week is that he learned to wave bye-bye! When we were leaving Sunday school class he waved bye-bye to the teacher. Now he waves bye-bye to everyone we meet! It is so cute. I love this stage he is going through. Even though we have been
teething a little and are going through that "I want my mommy" stage I love his laugh and personality that seems to shine through everyday a little more. I love being a mom!

Easter

We had so much fun with Will last weekend. We went to Mayfair's Easter egg hunt on Saturday. Will loved to eat the plastic eggs. He was in such a good mood. As you can see he was a little unsure of the Easter Bunny but, besides that he had fun playing with his friends.

Will had fun eating lunch with us on Sunday. He loves to play Peek-a-Boo with his daddy. You can't see his daddy but, that is why he is wearing that big smile!

Even though it was freezing outside we had to go out and get a few snapshots. Will did not like sitting on that cold grass. This is the only picture that we got with a good smile.

After taking pictures we went in and played with the stuff in Will's Easter basket. He doesn't eat candy of course so we had to get creative. He got several books, a bunny and bubbles. I thought that he would love the bubbles but as you can see he was not too sure about them. Maybe later he will grow to like them. We might try them in the bath. He loves to play in the tub.

Next weekend we will get to celebrate Easter in MS with my family. I will share some pictures from all of our family celebrations from this weekend and next, next week.

Beach Fun!

Hey everybody! Sorry we have been away so long. Things have gotten busy around our house so we have forgotten to keep this site up. We will try to do better. I thought I would share some pictures with you from our Spring Break Jr. High Beach Retreat. We had so much fun even though it was a little cold. Will loved the beach! You will see a picture of him eating the sand. Yuk! He is growing and changing everyday. He loves to talk. He says, dadada, all day long. We are still working on mama. He will say it every now and then but, we all know that he is a daddy's boy. He is also sitting up really well and will pull up a little. He is not crawling yet, but I think he will before long. So, all that to say life is good! We are loving watching our little man grow up and learn about the world around him. Enjoy the pictures!

Watch the Video!

Ok, I think the Video of Will rolling over in the previous post works now. I know many of you couldn't watch it before, but try it now. It's the most exciting 6 second video you'll ever watch!

Merry Christmas!

Wow, this has been a busy month. We've decorated the tree (6 trees at our house to be exact)! As you can see, Will helped us put the lights on the tree. We've wrapped all the gifts. And now we're waiting for Santa!

We hope that all of you have a very Merry Christmas! We feel so blessed to be celebrating with Will this year.

So far, Will's jumparoo is by far his favorite toy! He'll jump for minutes at a time!

And he's started eating real food now, kind of. We're making home made baby food. His first food? You guessed it! Avacado! You can see how excited he is about this.

Check back later for more photos & updates! Happy Holidays!

4 Months

Our sweet little Will is 4 months old. Time is really flying by. We went to the doctor last week. He weighed in at 18lbs. 1 oz. and is 26 inches long. The doctor said he is very healthy. Since he is four months we got the green light to start cereal. He has really grown to love his rice. He grabs for the spoon and opens his mouth like a little hungry bird. It really is cute. We also took time to put his Jumperoo together last week. It is his all time favorite toy. He can be screaming and we put him in it and all we get are smiles. Life is really good!
Hope you enjoy the pictures. We have added some new ones but they may be hard to find. Look at the end of some of the albums to find the new ones.

Grandparents are the Best!

During this time of year we are thinking about all of the blessings in our life. We are so grateful to our parents. What a blessing it is that they love not only us but our child so much. We love seeing their eyes light up when Will enters the room. They are so proud of him. It is amazing that Will is already beginning to recognize their voices. Our prayer is that Will will always know how much he is loved and cared for by all of his family. Thanks to everyone who has shared your love with us and Will. We are so grateful!

Turkey Day w/ Will T.

This was our first Thanksgiving with Will. We had a great time for sure. And we obviously have much to be thankful for, with Will topping the list this year. Alisha had some great Turkey Day outfits for our little man. If it were up to me, he'd just wear Auburn gear everyday of the week. Most days I loose that battle though! We left late Wednesday night after church. It was great for Will. He slept the whole way to Mississippi. We stayed there till today. We got to visit with all of Alisha's family. And it was great to spend some time with them. We're glad to be home now after a long trip. Now that Thanksgiving is over, we're getting ready for Christmas. I think Alisha has enough Christmas outfits for Will that he could wear a different one from today till Dec. 25 without repeating! Crazy, I know. Tis the season! Click on the left to see new photos! Thanks for checking in. Till next time...
