Merry Christmas!

Wow, this has been a busy month. We've decorated the tree (6 trees at our house to be exact)! As you can see, Will helped us put the lights on the tree. We've wrapped all the gifts. And now we're waiting for Santa!

We hope that all of you have a very Merry Christmas! We feel so blessed to be celebrating with Will this year.

So far, Will's jumparoo is by far his favorite toy! He'll jump for minutes at a time!

And he's started eating real food now, kind of. We're making home made baby food. His first food? You guessed it! Avacado! You can see how excited he is about this.

Check back later for more photos & updates! Happy Holidays!

4 Months

Our sweet little Will is 4 months old. Time is really flying by. We went to the doctor last week. He weighed in at 18lbs. 1 oz. and is 26 inches long. The doctor said he is very healthy. Since he is four months we got the green light to start cereal. He has really grown to love his rice. He grabs for the spoon and opens his mouth like a little hungry bird. It really is cute. We also took time to put his Jumperoo together last week. It is his all time favorite toy. He can be screaming and we put him in it and all we get are smiles. Life is really good!
Hope you enjoy the pictures. We have added some new ones but they may be hard to find. Look at the end of some of the albums to find the new ones.

Grandparents are the Best!

During this time of year we are thinking about all of the blessings in our life. We are so grateful to our parents. What a blessing it is that they love not only us but our child so much. We love seeing their eyes light up when Will enters the room. They are so proud of him. It is amazing that Will is already beginning to recognize their voices. Our prayer is that Will will always know how much he is loved and cared for by all of his family. Thanks to everyone who has shared your love with us and Will. We are so grateful!

Turkey Day w/ Will T.

This was our first Thanksgiving with Will. We had a great time for sure. And we obviously have much to be thankful for, with Will topping the list this year. Alisha had some great Turkey Day outfits for our little man. If it were up to me, he'd just wear Auburn gear everyday of the week. Most days I loose that battle though! We left late Wednesday night after church. It was great for Will. He slept the whole way to Mississippi. We stayed there till today. We got to visit with all of Alisha's family. And it was great to spend some time with them. We're glad to be home now after a long trip. Now that Thanksgiving is over, we're getting ready for Christmas. I think Alisha has enough Christmas outfits for Will that he could wear a different one from today till Dec. 25 without repeating! Crazy, I know. Tis the season! Click on the left to see new photos! Thanks for checking in. Till next time...

Happy Halloween!

We are very excited about Will's first Halloween! As you can see Will is going to be a pumpkin tonight. We are not planning on Trick 0r Treating but we will have fun passing out candy to all of the kids on our street. We went to a local pumpkin patch to take these pictures. We will add more to York Photos soon. Happy Halloween!

15 lbs. & Growing

On Tuesday Will went for his 2 month check up. It's hard to believe he's 2 months old already. He weighed in at 15 lbs 5.oz. and 24 inches long. He's started outgrowing the 3-6 month clothes. He's healthy, no worries here. This weekend his aunt Amy is in town with his cousin Jaxon. His great Granny & Grandaddy are in town too (my mom's parent's), so that's exciting. Here's a few pictures for all of you who have been waiting for the update & more photos! Enjoy!

Future Tailgater

It's fun having a son to share football season with. We almost took him to his first Auburn game this weekend at Miss. State. But we decided he wouldn't have much fun & we wouldn't either if he went, so we left him with the grandparents. He'll get to go to his first game soon enough, I guess. Everybody is still doing well. Alisha got a clean bill of health from her doctor. So we're thankful for that. I just uploaded about 50 new pictures, so you can enjoy those & share in our joy along the way.

Latest News

Sorry it's been a while since we've posted an update. It's a lot of work to care for a newborn, you know? Will now weighs 13 lbs 8 oz. (We had him weighed again today). Alisha took him to the doctor today because we've been concerned with a rash he's had on his face. Friends told us it was probably baby acne & nothing to worry about. But it's continued & this morning it looked worse. So we decided to let the doc take a look. If nothing else to put our minds to ease. Come to find out he has seborrhea. It's nothing to be alarmed about. It's very common in newborns (we're told). And with treatment we should see almost immediate results. The dr. said in 2-3 days it should be cleared up. So that's great news. The only concern is that seborrhea can sometimes be an early sign that your child will have eczema. So we're praying that Will won't have eczema. For now, we're glad we know what's going on & how to treat it.

This weekend we head to Mississippi State for the Auburn game! We're excited. Before long Will is going to be singing the fight song along with the rest of the family. Right now he just throws up his arms & says "touchdown!" (with a little help from dad:) We'll have new pictures up next week.

Radiance!

.
The Son is the...

radiance,

the expression, the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of, the reflection of...

the Father's

...glory,

the perfect imprint and very image of in nature...

Hebrews 1:3 says it so well, speaking of Jesus & Father God.
The Son is the radiance of the Father's glory...
How true it is for all father's & sons. I pray today that my son will be the radiance of his Heavenly Father's glory. If Will bears any reflection of me, may it only be the reflection of Christ in me.

Growing Fast

Today we had our 2 week checkup with the pediatrician & Will weighed in at a whopping 10lbs 2oz. That's a full pound more than his birth weight! And he's grown a 1/2 inch since he was born. So there's no reason to worry here. Will couldn't be doing better. Our doctor was very pleased with his growth. His grandmother from Columbus is here this week helping us out & taking care of him & Alisha while I get back into the routine of working for a living. We're blessed to have her here. Will sleeps pretty good at night. He typically only gets up twice in the night to eat. Usually he'll sleep 4 hours at a time at night before getting hungry again. He seldom cries. He's a pretty laid back kid as of right now & we feel very blessed! I'm sure there will be phases where that won't be the case, but as of right now... he's easy to get along with. As you can see in the picture above, his number 1 concern right now is getting ready for the upcoming college football season. War Eagle!

Five Hundred & Thirteen

513. That's how many pictures we've taken of Will so far in his 10 days of life outside the womb. That's over 50 photos a day. That's a lot, right? Poor guy will probably go blind from the constant flash going off all the time! At least his life will be well documented. Today both my Grannys from my side of the family are coming to town, so yes... there will be more pictures. And that's ok. It's an exciting time & we're enjoying every minute of it. Some of the highlights include things like getting peed & pooped on while doing diaper changes, & during bath time. There's also the daily gargantuan spit up to look forward to. Like last night I had him on my shoulder just resting, & here it comes, everything he just had for dinner on my shoulder. O well. We sleep when he sleeps, which is not normally when we like to sleep, but we take sleep when we can get it. It's fun, really.... I promise.

By way of update, Alisha is starting to feel much better. I think she'll be back to full strength in a couple of weeks. But she has really improved from the first week after having Will. We're thankful for that. I'll be going back to work next week. But she'll have family around to help her when I'm not there. If you haven't come by to visit, we hope you know you're welcome to come. We'd love to introduce you to our son. (Just call first to make sure we're awake!)

We are so grateful for all our friends who have brought food. We have eaten like royalty over the past few days. It has really been a blessing & we pray that God will bless you in return for the way you've blessed us.

One more thing, a quick congratulations to our friends Jon & Stacy on the birth of their daughter Jordan Page! We're praying for you guys.

Smiles!

Things continue to go great & we're having a lot of fun so far. Will is the king of making funny faces. Not bad considering he's only 1 week old. Here's a couple of the most recent pictures that make us smile. Remember, we're constantly updating & adding more photos to the links on the right. If you're a photo fanatic like we are, you'll enjoy taking a look. You can do a slide show or just enjoy looking at the thumbnails. Either way, we think he'll make you smile too.

First Outing

Today has been an exciting day of firsts. We had our first doctors appointment this afternoon for Will. It was our first time to pack a diaper bag, get ourselves ready and get to an appointment on time with our newest bundle of joy. It is amazing how you learn to multi-task! We are happy to report that Will now weighs 9lbs. 2oz. The doctor said he is doing great. Corey was excited to dress him in an outfit that he picked out for him. Notice the drums on his shirt. Hopefully, he will grow up to love music like daddy.

Home Sweet Home

We are home! It's so nice to finally be here & be able to have the comforts of home. I think Will likes this new place. He seems to be content. Today we gave him his first bath. That was exciting. He's enjoying his life... eating, sleeping, & doing everything else babies do. Alisha is continuing to get better. She is still on the upswing, but hopefully she'll be back to full strength before too long. Thanks to everyone who has been praying for us during this exciting time. We truly feel blessed.

Going Home

We just got the good news. Alisha is doing better this morning according to the doctor, so we'll be going home soon. Thanks for your prayers. We're excited to get to bring Will home & show him his new room, let him meet his dog Sam, & all that cool stuff! We'll try to keep you posted here on the blog to let you know how it's going. We're constantly adding new photos to the "Baby Pictures" link, so you can check that & scroll to the bottom to see the most recent pictures. Here's one of my newest favorite photos:

One more night till homecoming

As it turns out, we're here at the hospital for one more night. Will is doing terrific. We praise God for that. Alisha, however, is still a little anemic. The Doc. doesn't want to send her home till she's feeling a little better. We feel good that we'll get to go home at some point tomorrow.

We've got a lot of great stories to tell already as we've become parents. You'll have to ask us about "Ashley," the coming home outfit, the real story of how I (Corey) wet the bed, & I'm sure there's more I just can't think of right now. It's been exhausting, eventful, & a lot of fun. Stay tuned for more...

28 hours old!

Have you seen him yet? Our little guy in the Auburn beanie??? If you haven't noticed the "Baby Pictures" link on the right, you can click here to see pictures!

All continues to go well here at the hospital. Will is eating great, sleeping lots, & there's paid staff & anxious grandparents available for diaper changes! We may just move in! Alisha is doing great too. She's up moving around. She seems to be bouncing back just fine. We should be going home late tomorrow. Drop by & see us tomorrow if your near the hospital. We continue to be thankful for all of you!

William Luke Emmanuel Trevathan

Welcome to our world William Luke Emmanuel Trevathan.

Last night at 6:07PM little Will came into our world at 9lbs 1oz, 21 inches long! How Alisha ever delivered him I'll never know. She was absolutely amazing. Yesterday was filled with ups & downs, but what an amazing finish! We are so proud & excited.

We choose the name for our little guy with a lot of thought. We really wanted our boy to have a strong name, one rich with meaning. William was given to me by my dad. It was his middle name & his mother's maiden name. It's a name that carries a lot of family significance & we pray that it will encourage him to follow in the spiritual footprints laid before him. The name Luke carries the meaning "worshipful" which we hope & pray will be descriptive of our son. We choose it as a namesake after my Pappa, Lucian Trevathan, who went to heaven in July. Emmanuel means "God with us." And that's an expression of exactly how we feel. God has truly been with us. His hand in our lives & his fingerprints are easily seen as we look back. God has been ever present & we pray that He will be with our son in the same way He has been with us.

We pray that our son would be dedicated to God in every way & would grow in his love for the Lord everyday. Please join us in this prayer. We cannot express how grateful we are for ALL the prayers & love we have felt from our friends & family. Thank you all for everything. May God bless you in return for all the ways in which you've blessed us.

Here's what you've really been waiting to see, pictures!!! Enjoy!

Today's the Day

It's 12:00AM & we're at Crestwood. When we wake up in a few hours they will induce Alisha & sometime today we'll have a baby! Tonight is filled with much anticipation & emotion. We're looking so forward to what's to come. We have such wonderful family & friends surrounding us & holding us up in prayer & support. What a wonderful blessing each of you are. We thank God often for you in our prayers. At some point today I look forward to posting a picture or two & introducing you to our child. And we'll finally get to reveal & explain the name we've chosen. So join us in hope & expectation.

I pray God will continue to hold fast to us, and I know He will. He has always been so faithful. Thank You God for the blessing it is to be safe in Your arms, trusting completely in You. We place all our cares on You, because You care for us. What have we to fear, for Your perfect love cast out fear. Continue to be gracious to us. May Your face shine upon us & grant us peace. Amen.

Nearly 38 Weeks & Counting

Today we had another visit with the doctor & all went well. Alisha is measuring at 40 weeks. It's been typical throughout for her to measure 2 weeks ahead. We also found out today that she is dilated to 1 centimeter & she's 50% effaced. So if you know what that means, then I'm glad. All I know is that it sounds like we're starting to make some progress. Obviously we're beginning to wonder how big this baby is going to get & what it will be like to bring this baby into the world. According to our doc, who we have great respect for, standard care is that at 9lbs. or more a c-section is offered. So who knows, we may be getting close to that point. We have another appointment in a week, if we make it that far we'll probably be making some decisions. But who knows. We'll keep taking it one day at a time for right now. The bags are basically packed. The car seat is locked & loaded. I guess we're ready. We even wrote a lullaby for the little one. I'll see if I can figure out a way to record it & post it here for you to listen to, if you're interested. For now, keep us (especially Alisha) in your prayers. Thanks!

Anxiously Waiting

Today we went for our 36 week check up. Dr. Conrad said everything is going great. The baby has not dropped yet so we probably still have a few weeks before we get to meet our little one. I measured 39 weeks so we are fairly confident that baby "T" will be a hearty baby. So to my friends who love "fat" babies you are sure to love this one. : ) And for those of you who see me flying down Taylor Rd (the most bumpy road in Huntsville) in Corey's Jeep Wrangler or walking 5 miles a day just know that we are anxious to meet this little one and willing to do whatever it takes to get it here.
